FAQ

Quick answers.

How long is a session?

We all have different needs and goals, so sessions are tailored to you.

  • Traditional individual sessions for adults and teenagers are 50 minutes, but 90-minute sessions are available.
  • Sessions with children are between 30 and 50 minutes, depending on age and capacity.
  • Couples and family sessions are 60 minutes.
What is play-based intervention?

Play-based intervention is an approach I use with children, because it is not always easy or appropriate to expect them to express themselves like adults do in traditional counselling.

Children are observed through play, and coping skills are chosen based on what is seen. Play is also a safe way for children to express worries and emotions.

Where appropriate, careful attention is placed on whether referral to relevant support networks is needed, with the goal of ensuring the best possible support for your child.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes, I work across South Africa via secure video.

Counselling vs therapy, is there a difference?

The terms are often used interchangeably. Counselling typically focuses on present-day challenges and practical coping strategies, while psychotherapy may explore deeper patterns over a longer time. Many clients benefit from a blend of both, depending on their goals and timeline.

Are you taking new clients?

Absolutely. You are welcome to contact us if you have questions or concerns.

If you would like, we can start with a free intro call to explain the process. If you feel ready to book a session, you can book via the booking system or contact us directly to get started.

The first step can be the hardest, but I’m glad you’re here. I look forward to going on this journey with you.

How do I pay?

Payments are made before sessions to lower the risk of no-shows. You will be sent an invoice with EFT banking details. After the invoice is paid, your session is confirmed.

24-hour cancellation policy: sessions cancelled less than 24 hours before your appointment time are not liable for a refund.
